What this site stores

Nothing, until you send an inquiry. The pages set no cookies, load no trackers or ads, and the fonts come from this site.

When you send an inquiry, the site stores:

• what you enter: the topic, your name, your e-mail address, your company or website if you give one, your message, the timeline or the link to a job ad if you give one, and the language you want an answer in;
• the time it was sent and its status (new, read, answered, archived);
• a random ID for your browser, created by Firebase Anonymous Authentication. It lets this browser show you the status of your inquiry and limits sending to one inquiry per minute. Your browser keeps the ID in its own storage (IndexedDB).

Why

To answer your inquiry and, if you ask for an offer, to take the steps before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The anonymous ID and the one-per-minute limit protect the form from abuse, which is my legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Where

In Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication), provided by Google Ireland Limited, which processes the data on my behalf. The database is in the European Union. Firebase Authentication is a global service; where data leaves the EU, Google applies the safeguards in its data processing terms.

The pages are served by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like any web host, it receives technical data such as your IP address when you load a page.

How long

Each inquiry gets a deletion date 12 months after it was sent. Once that date has passed, my inbox deletes the inquiry the next time I open it. I delete it earlier if you ask, or once it is clearly no longer needed. The anonymous ID stays in your browser until you clear this site’s data.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, a copy of it, its correction or deletion, or restrict or object to its processing (Articles 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to the address above. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Romania that is ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
